PERLE RESTAURANT
Art & gastro Experiences
At Perle, art and food are not separate experiences—they complement and elevate one another. Our space is designed to host exhibitions, screenings, workshops, and gastronomic events that invite dialogue, curiosity, and connection.
One Table, One Theme
Our gastro experiences are intimate, topic-driven events announced in advance and designed to celebrate a specific idea, ingredient, or story. From a chef’s favorite bowl of pho and the first lamb of the season to curated wine-pairing evenings and cooking sessions inspired by a book or a film—each event is a moment to slow down, taste deeply, and connect.
Get your Spot at the table
Each experience is hosted at our large walnut table and limited to just 16 guests, creating a warm, personal atmosphere where everyone feels part of the moment. Follow us on our social channels to discover upcoming events and reserve your seat.
Henri Verneuil
RETROSPECTIVE
This retrospective presented a curated collection of retro posters celebrating the work of renowned director Henri Verneuil. Featuring both his French cinematic milestones and autobiographical films, the exhibition highlighted the emotional depth of his storytelling. The collection reflected the enduring cultural bond between France and Armenia, leaving a strong impression through its warmth and nostalgia.
Box of memories
by Lilya COrneli
In Box of Memories, artist Lilya Corneli explores themes of displacement, heritage, and memory through an intimate, autobiographical collection. Using photographs, relics, and ancestral artifacts, she traces her family’s history of loss, resilience, and survival. This exhibition marked the first time Lilya Corneli’s work was showcased in Armenia, creating a deeply personal and resonant encounter with shared histories.
Armenian Cinematography
Retrospective
This exhibition traced the evolution of Armenian cinema through a unique collection of retro film posters from different eras. Highlights included silent films by Hamo Bek-Nazaryan, the founder of Armenian cinematography; his landmark Pepo—the first Armenian sound film—and iconic works from the 1970s to 1990s. The display became a powerful visual narrative and a striking backdrop for multiple film screenings hosted at Perle.
Know Your Neighbor
Our inaugural exhibition, Know Your Neighbor, brought together works by contemporary Armenian painters, sculptors, and visual artists from Yerevan and Vanadzor. The exhibition set the tone for Perle’s cultural mission, positioning the space not only as a gastronomic destination but also as a platform for discovering and engaging with contemporary Armenian art.
Mariam Papyan
In March 2024, we were delighted to host a spring art residency with visual artist Mariam Papyan. During her stay, Mariam presented a selection of her interior design objects while working on new light installations directly in our space. Guests had the rare opportunity to witness her creative process firsthand. As part of the residency, she generously left several of her light objects with us and led hands-on workshops in papier-mâché and felt-making, creating moments of shared learning and creativity.
Exhibition
Armenian Short Films
We hosted a series of screenings dedicated to contemporary Armenian short films—works celebrated at international festivals yet rarely accessible to a wider audience. Each screening opened space for direct conversations with the filmmakers, allowing stories, intentions, and emotions to unfold beyond the screen. These intimate exchanges deepened the experience for both authors and viewers, making the evenings as insightful as they were deeply rewarding for us to host.We bake our sourdough bagels ourselves, shaping each one with time and attention. Filled with thoughtfully paired ingredients and served with a fresh side salad, they make the perfect lunch plate—satisfying, balanced, and full of character.
Marat Sargsyan
During Thanksgiving Weekend, we welcomed award-winning director and screenwriter Marat Sargsyan for a special evening dedicated to gratitude, storytelling, and cinema. The event featured screenings of two of his acclaimed films, followed by an open conversation with the artist. The evening continued around the dinner table, where behind-the-scenes stories and shared reflections reinforced our vision of uniting food and art into a truly memorable experience.
Marina Razbezhkina
We were honored to host a cinematic rendezvous with Marina Razbezhkina, renowned Russian screenwriter, producer, director, and documentary filmmaker. Her vision, storytelling, and personal insights captivated the audience, turning the evening into a deeply inspiring experience. Set within our intimate art space in the heart of Debed village, the gathering allowed for close dialogue and meaningful exchange between the filmmaker and guests.
Sveta Zubkova
Occasionally, we host pottery workshops led by Sveta Zubkova, an exclusive ceramic master class with a Vanadzor-based artist. Whatever theme the artist chooses for the workshop, participants always leave with a handmade piece—and a warm memory of Perle and Debed shaped by their own hands.
We value our collaboration with Sveta, as it reflects our shared belief in craftsmanship, creative exchange, and the importance of supporting regional artists.
